If you have a SKY digibox without a viewing card in the slot, it has not been possible, until recently, to uncode Channel 4, Film 4, E4, and More 4 as they are transmitted using the SKY coding system.
As the Contract that Channel 4 group with SKY is coming to an end shortly and will not be re-newed, they are carrying out Test transmissions of these channels uncoded prior to going free-to-air in the very near future.
If you can manage a little technical expertise, which is not rocket science, you can easily access these channels as uncoded and available for you to enjoy.If you are interested, carry out the following procedure, and all will be revealed in
glorious technicolour !!
1. Press "Services" on your SKY remote.
2. Press 4 - "System Set-Up"
3. Press 4 - "Add Channels "
4. On Add Channels menu, change the following
details : Frequency 10.729
Polorisation Leave as V
Symbol Rate 22
FEC 5/6
5. Move yellow cursor line down to Find Channels
6. Press " Select "
7. The Add Channels menu will appear with a list of all Channel 4 programmes on it.
8. With the yellow button ,tick each channel by moving the cursor line down and pressing "Select" on each line.
9. When all the channels are ticked, press " Select" and then press "Select" again to store the channels you have selected.
10. Press the " SKY " button to return to your normal tv channel
11. Now, to access your new found channels, press
"Services" and select option 6 " Other Channels
12. This will bring up a menu with your new channels listed. You can select the channel you wish to view with the yellow cursor and pressing "Select "
13. Channel 4 will be the one identified by the number 8350
14 You can now watch all the channels on the list uncoded and without a viewing card.
All the navigating involved in the above can be carried out by using the blue buttons around the central " Select " button.
If you would like to have these channels, try the above and good viewing.
